On July 3, 2019, Schagrin Associates obtained a favorable decision from U.S. Customs and Border Protection for its client Steel of West Virginia.
The decision revoked a prior ruling that exempted certain imported steel products from Section 232 duties.
This effectively closed a loophole importers exploited to avoid payment of the duties, which were implemented to protect U.S. producers of steel products.
