Nicholas J. Birch

Nicholas J. Birch is a seasoned international trade attorney. Mr. Birch has experience in a variety of international trade and legal matters including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings, Enforce and Protect Act (“EAPA”) investigations, suspension agreements, export controls, bilateral trade and investment agreements, WTO dispute settlement, and international arbitration.

 

Mr. Birch has represented clients before numerous agencies, courts, and international tribunals, including the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Court of International Trade, and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) tribunals.

Mr. Birch’s recent work covers a range of industries including:

Mr. Birch has previously worked in researching and publishing on international investment and treaty arbitration. He also worked in finance and purchasing for a major international manufacturer. He has received a certificate in WTO Studies from Georgetown University. While at law school, he served as a headnote writer for Oxford Reports on International Law’s International Investment Claims.

Mr. Birch has published numerous articles on international law, arbitration, investment and development.
