Connor Murphy

Connor Murphy joined the government affairs practice at Schagrin Associates in 2024, bringing nearly 7 years of experience from his time working at the Congress. Prior to his role at Schagrin Associates, Connor served as Legislative Director for U.S. Representative Bill Johnson, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio including trade and tax matters, and key caucuses including the Congressional Steel Caucus, the Congressional Aluminum Caucus, the Republican Main Street Caucus, and the Problem Solvers Caucus. Additionally, he provided strategic counsel on legislative initiatives within the Energy and Commerce Committee.


Graduating from Penn State University with a B.A. in Economics in 2017, Connor embarked on his congressional career by joining Rep. Johnson's Washington D.C. office. His dedication and strategic prowess led him to assume pivotal roles within Rep. Johnson's team, including Political Director and Campaign Manager, where he successfully navigated reelection in 2018.


Building on his success in the House of Representatives, Connor expanded his expertise by joining the office of Senator Joni Ernst, where he gained valuable insights into navigating the policy landscapes of both chambers of Congress. He then returned to the House and Rep. Johnson’s office following the 2020 election cycle.
