Elizabeth J. Drake

Elizabeth J. Drake has twenty years of experience as an international trade attorney, and she worked on international trade policy for six years prior to entering practice.

 

Ms. Drake has represented clients in a broad array of international trade law matters before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. Court of International Trade, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Trade Representative. She has experience litigating antidumping and countervailing duty cases for a variety of industries, pursuing section 301 petitions, and advising on trade preferences and international and bilateral trade agreements. She has also assisted clients on trade policy and legislative matters, as well as on dispute settlement proceedings before the World Trade Organization.

 

Ms. Drake has testified before Congress, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, and the U.S.-China Economic Security Review Commission. She has also spoken and published on a wide variety of issues in international trade, including China’s industrial policies, the intersection between trade, labor, and environmental policies, WTO rules and disputes, and Buy America laws.

 

Ms. Drake chaired the U.S. Court of International Trade’s 22nd Judicial Conference Planning Committee, and she currently serves as the Vice President of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, and Super Lawyers. Best Lawyers named Ms. Drake as 2023’s “Lawyer of the Year” for International Trade and Finance Law in Washington, DC.

 

Prior to joining Schagrin Associates in 2017, Ms. Drake was a partner at a boutique law firm focused on trade remedies. Before entering practice, she was an international policy analyst at the AFL-CIO.
