Schagrin Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Maliha Khan to our team. Maliha comes to us after working as an associate at a law firm and spending several years at the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, where she was a compliance analyst and Presidential Management Fellow (PMF).
While at Commerce, Ms. Khan enforced U.S. AD/CVD laws, conducted investigations and reviews to remedy unfairly traded, dumped, and/or subsidized imports and determined the appropriate duties to offset unfair trade practices. As a PMF, Ms. Khan was part of a highly selective, two-year training and leadership program designed for moving advanced degree graduates into government leadership positions. She is also an elected term member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and a former Intern at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Office of General Counsel and Interagency Trade Enforcement Center where she analyzed WTO case law, conducted research on various U.S. trade policy issues, and helped prepare USTR staff for trade negotiations.
Maliha draws upon her vast experience to assist clients in trade remedy proceedings and appeals, and she is also experienced in assisting clients on various customs matters, including enforcement proceedings before U.S. Customs and Border Protection, including Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Action (UFLPA) detentions and Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) proceedings.
